Govt. Sardar Begum Civil (DHQ Level) Hospital Sialkot was built in 1992. The benefactors (late) Syed Muhammad Bashir R/O Mohalla Shah Syedan ??Tehsil and District Sialkot were handed over to the Government. It was later expanded by the (late) Syed Muhammad Bashir in 2006 under the name of Shams Block. 

As Govt. Sardar Begum Civil (DHQ Level) Govt. Sardar Begum Teaching Hospital is now located in the heart of the city and is attached to the Government. The number of patients in Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College Sialkot is increasing day by day as a result of improvement in the quality of facilities and care and the government has been contacted to increase the number of beds from 134 to 250 beds.
